About the Jackson School of Geosciences Career Center

Our students are unique and highly sought after by recruiters from all geoscience disciplines. The Jackson School of Geosciences has strong ties to industry due to its large size, excellent faculty, and prestigious alumni. Students benefit from opportunities for employment, research assistantships, and academic credit by working with scientists at the Bureau of Economic Geology and the Institute for Geophysics.

The JSG Career Center (JSGCC) is a new office and part of Student Services.  Our goal is to serve students, alumni, and employers by hosting on-campus recruiting and our annual career fair, presenting workshops on writing effective resumes and cover letters, interviewing skills, business ethics and etiquette, professional licensing, job search skills, and other topics of relevance and interest. One-on-one assistance is also available for every student.
