C. Maurine Riess Career Center Coordinator 512-232-7673 About the Jackson School of Geosciences Career CenterThe Career Center is a new office in the Jackson School and a part of Student Services. Our goal is to be the primary resource for the career development needs of our students and alumni, and to foster existing and new relationships with employers who are seeking qualified individuals at all degree levels and from all geoscience disciplines. Our goals are to:
-Empower students and alumni with the resources they need to begin and develop their geoscience career.
We host a career fair each September that kicks-off our annual on-campus recruiting. We schedule information sessions, on-campus interviews, and other events throughout the year with employers from geoscience industries. For our students, the Career Center presents workshops on writing effective resumes and cover letters, effective interviewing, business ethics and etiquette, searching for jobs and other topics of relevance and interest. One-on-one assistance is also available by appointment. Our online career services site, GEO·SOURCE, allows students to create an account where they upload their resume, apply for jobs and internships and sign-up for on-campus interviews. Employers may post jobs, review student resumes, and schedule interviews. GEO·SOURCE
