Hydrogeology and Geochemistry Links

This page is a work in progress, and will eventually contain some useful links for hydrogeology and aqueous geochemistry, in no particular order.  I will limit it to primary sites from which you can find longer lists of links.

The Hydrogeologists Home Page:   This is a great collection of information and links to other sites all over the world.  It is organized by Dave Diodato at Penn State University, and should probably be the first place you start looking.

NGWA:  The National Ground Water Association's web site - very useful site with many more links, ground water employment information, a terrific bibliographic data base, wow - what a thrill....   This is a good organization to consider joining as a student - pretty cheap, a good journal, and a way to network for the job search.

ACSWEB:  The American Chemical Society's web site.  Good place to go for other links.

USGS Water Resources:   Loads of information on stream flow, ground water, and water quality and lots of links to other agencies.  Some of the data you can access here is real time...

The Geochemical Society:   This seems to be perpetually under construction, but some useful stuff.

GSA:  The Geological Society of America.

NADP/NTN:  The National Atmospheric Deposition Program.  Access to precipitation chemistry from all over the country.

HydroWeb:  International Association for Environmental Hydrology.  Don't know much about them, but looks to be potentially useful.

U.S. EPA:  Environmental Protection Agency.

USGS Water Quality Software:  Download page for PHREEQC, BIOMOC, NETPATH, and other on-line and downloadable programs.

WEB-PHREEQ:  Online version of the PHREEQC software, hosted by NDSU.

SPREADBAL-2002:  A slick and useful spreadsheet mass balance model.

Texas Natural Resource Information System (TNRIS)  Primary source for GIS metadata for Texas

Texas Water Development Board (TWDB):  Lots of information, but particularly useful for downloading data on water wells in Texas - well locations and depths, geology, and some water chemistry.  The  best internet water well database in Texas.
