From time to time in this course you will be asked, or may otherwise feel compelled, to provide material to be incorporated into the larger body of course materials. In order to make this run as smoothly as possible, protocols are being established for material of various forms to be accessioned for the course.

BIBLIOGRAPHIC CITATIONS:

For references, we will be using a modified version of Journal of Paleontology format, with the italics, boldface, and other bells and whistles removed. We will not be using issue numbers after the volume name, except when the information is critical (e.g. supplements and other publications outside the regular serial format). Don't capitalize letters unnecessarily, e.g., in the title of an article (but, the title of a book should be in title case capitals). Abbreviated journal names are useless, and represent nothing more than a phenomenal waste of time. Italicize species, genera, and web addresses. Follow these examples to enlightenment (assuming THEY are properly formatted!):
