Global Tomography


 

The Model Values Files give the % shear velocity deviation on a 2 by 2 degree grid at different depth levels through the earth. The velocity anomalies are with respect to the model given in file tom.vel. No mean has been removed from the individual layers. The grid is not representative of the block size in the inversion. The model assumes the crustal thickness is given by the Mooney, Laske and Masters crustal model and thus velocity deviations in the upper most layer are with respect to a variable crustal thickness model. The files map(0-100km).pdf to map(2650-2890km).pdf are pictures of the different layers in the model. The endpoint coordinates are given in the figures.
