Dr. Kyle teaches courses on the geology, exploration, and evaluation of mineral resource concentrations. Rich teaches upper division undergraduate courses on Mineral Resources, Society, and the Environment (GEO341) and the Geology and Mineral Resources of Texas. At the graduate level he teaches Economic Geology (Geo 386E) and Regional Studies in Mineral Resources Geology (GEO381R). He and Professor Chip Groat teach a core course on the Geology of Earth Resources (Geo 386R) for the Energy and Mineral Resources graduate program. All of these courses offer the opportunity for field experience with mineral resources. Regional Studies concludes with a major international trip; recent trips have been to Chile, Peru; Spain-Portugal, western Australia, and the Great Basin; future plans include South Africa, Canada, and Mexico.
