Professor Libby Stern
Ph.D., Dartmouth, 1996
Field of Study:
Stable Isotope Geochemistry
Short Biography:
Dr. Libby Stern teaches undergraduate and
graduate courses in introductory geology, and biogeochemistry.
Dr. Stern uses the natural abundance of stable isotopes for understanding
modern and ancient terrestrial surficial processes. Her research interests
include: soils development both modern and ancient, the interaction of
tectonics and climate recorded in oxygen isotope precipitation proxies,
and the biogeochemistry of subterranean ecosystems
