Matthew Colbert Vertebrate
Morphology Ph.D., The University of Texas at Austin, 1999 |
I
started working at the High-Resolution X-ray Computed Tomography (CT)
Facility at the University of Texas (www.ctlab.geo.utexas.edu)
in the Fall of 1999, where my duties include operating the CT scanner,
image processing, and helping to manage the facilities.
My primary research interests involve the use of CT data to
visualize and describe vertebrate cranial morphology.
My focus has been on patterns of evolutionary and postnatal
ontogenetic variation in the Tapiroidea (Mammalia: Perissodactyla).
I have also been involved in the development of digital
educational resources, and have helped teach a course on ‘digital
methods in paleontology’. |
