GEODATABASE
Term project for CE 394K

please use links to enhance information

A major aspect of the hydrogeologic research being conducted at Sistema Zacatón is managing all of the data collected.  Many different types of information has been, and will be obtained in order to better understand the complex geology, hydrology, and geomorphology of this diverse karst system.  A Geographic Information System (GIS) is currently being developed to directly address the task of placing all the different data sets into a single, cohesive format that will greatly aide with interpreting the physical and chemical properties of the area.  The initial phase of creating a GIS for Sistema Zacatón utilizes two primary types of information: 3-D data for surface and sub-surface modeling, , and pre-existing digital and non-digital data acquired from outside sources (DEMs, geologic maps, etc.).  Field data collected on the surrounding environmental conditions is to be added to the GIS in the near future.
