- Scores for the second hour exam are now posted
on Blackboard.
- We begin faceting next week and will continue
to do so for the next four weeks in lab. Please see the
important notice on Blackboard about requirement for faceting.
- The project
description has been modified - a new option requires only one
faceted gemstone for the project.

- There are no laboratory sections this week.
Lab begins next week in Rm. 3.120. Because Monday, Sept. 2, is a
holiday, I ask that those of you who have the Monday lab section
(Mon. 1-3 PM) please attend one of the other labs next week. Times
and days for all lab sections are on the
syllabus; choose one and
attend. If you are unable to, please see me or email Miriam (miriam10@mail.utexas.edu),
the T.A., to arrange a make-up.
