GPS data sets for Lab 8

I. The Data - Spring, 2004 - Read before downloading!

Each of files to the right is linked to an Excel spreadsheet.  To dowload a file from a Windows browser, right-click on the link, choose "Save Target As..", specify a location to save the file to, and click OK.  Clicking on a file directly may open it in Excel, but you will be working on the file across the web, a slow, unreliable and impermanent method which does not provide an obvious way to save your work.  Work from a downloaded file that is saved to a disk, not one on the web!
  • The file "Lab8data_2001.xls" is an Office 2000 Excel workbook (241 kb) containing 10 worksheets; one each for data and a graph for each station, a sheet with a table to compile all of the statistics, and a chart showing a map of the East Mall with the GPS results.  This file contains all of the data and tables needed to complete the lab
  • The file "Lab8data_2001_Excel5.xls" is the same, but saved as an Excel 5.0/95 & 97-2000 workbook.  This should work for older versions of Excel; use this file only if you can't get the "Lab8data_2001.xls" file to work..
  • The file "Table_2001.xls" is an Office 2000 Excel worksheet containing only the table needed to compile the GPS statistics.  The same thing, saved as Excel 5.0/95, is available as the "Table_2001_Excel5.xls" file.  These files duplicate the table available in the files above; use only if you can't get those to work.

Please contact me or your T.A. immediately if you have difficulty downloading any of these files.

II. To turn in:

  1. A completed paper copy of "Table_2001".
